It's tough for Australia to break new ground.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the squad that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

The fact it required as late as Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the largest in the women's 50-over format, is, in truth, a tribute to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It's difficult for their batters to possess a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was considerably tougher to predict.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at a World Cup - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, scoring 21 fours and three maximums.

Once she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at one run per ball - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I'm happy we have the confidence to achieve that now," stated Healy further.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, if we do, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the last competing nations at this tournament should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will succeed regardless of circumstances has only strengthened - this victory coming after success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may probably be guaranteed.

It was at that stage they were eliminated from the previous year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the inaugural occasion at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she later said she wished she had played despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this tournament is anticipated as her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a world championship as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
