Comedian and author David Walliams lost his contract with publishing house.
Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the company commented: "Upon deliberation, and following the appointment of its fresh leadership, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
Media sources suggest that the move was taken subsequent to an investigation into allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at women.
The firm declined to specify the motivations for this action, adding: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."
An Illustrious Publishing History
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, having sold over six tens of millions of copies globally in five dozen languages.
The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his titles, including *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.
To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
From Screen to Page
His initial claim to fame came on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He received an OBE in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
This move occurs subsequent to the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
