Football Recap: Broncos Edge Struggling Jets in Low-Scoring Battle

During a defensive struggle this weekend, the Denver Broncos managed to secure a 13-11 win over the struggling New York Jets. Signal-caller Bo Nix threw an early touchdown pass and specialist Wil Lutz provided the late go-ahead field goal to secure the hard-fought win.

Dominant Performance Wins Game

Even with recording nine sacks against Jets quarterback Justin Fields, the Broncos were behind 11-10 after conceding a two-point play in the second half. Remarkably, the Jets managed a mere 82 total net yards during the entire game.

The Denver quarterback, who completed 19 of 30 attempts for 174 yards, engineered a critical 12-play, 65-yard possession that culminated in Lutz's short field goal with approximately five minutes remaining.

Historic Difficulties for Jets Offense

In spite of their horrendous performance, the Jets maintained the ball with a chance to drive for a possible victory. However Fields was tackled on fourth down from the Denver 44 when coach Aaron Glenn opted to go for it instead of calling on specialist Nick Folk for a long field-goal attempt.

The Jets quarterback had difficulties throughout, connecting on just 9 of 17 attempts for 45 yards. The Jets ended up with minus-10 passing yards, the lowest in any contest since 1998.

"Our passing game was non-existent," the coach commented following the contest.
