Hulu to Bring a Far Cry TV Series from the Minds of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The newest action-packed instalment that players experienced was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito as the antagonist, Antón, and came out on October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for celebrating violence and madness with the same glee, all while presenting gripping, politically driven tales. No wonder then that the network’s new order for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two visionaries whose projects have embodied all of those elements.

What to Expect

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game property, the short-run anthology series will be available on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The anthology will also parallel the video games' style by introducing a fresh location and group of personalities in every instalment.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, producer of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the mind behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will act as executive producers on the series through their companies, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be partnered by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are thrilled that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a news release. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for entrusting us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but currently, we have no details on what part that might entail. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago renewed for another season, with FX and Disney signing a new overall deal with the showrunner.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been exceptionally generous, trusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And through it all, my FX partners always encourages me with their steady confidence and support.”

“What appeals to me about the Far Cry game collection is that it’s an standalone program. Every title is a take of a concept, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To create a large-scale action show that can change from season to season, while always delving into the nature of people through this complex and chaotic perspective, is a dream come true. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and present our mutual irreverent, ambitious style to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
