Soccer Analyst Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game victorious streak was ended by Sunderland before the international break, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, versus AI, readers and a variety of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' latest record, the new release, is out on the weekend.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the game means it's too risky for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Top Division Predictions

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is now stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.

The expert's forecast: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this season came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what on earth do I predict here - can the Hammers continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Villa was a blip.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but the visitors have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their last four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football squad a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to pick him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

The Bees have not had much success on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at their stadium. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their last six games.

Fulham have have lots of quality in their squad but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I really need to continue going against Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be extremely eager for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

The guest's choice: I'm aware the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in all competitions, but might they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
