The Streaming Giant Selects Spot-On Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is set to exert significant influence in the forthcoming season on Netflix of One Piece, though the major clash isn’t set to occur until the third season, and a beloved, popular member has now been chosen.

The platform declared Tuesday that Cole Escola has joined the One Piece cast for the third season and will portray Bentham. This character possesses the power to transform into an exact copy of any individual they’ve touched with their dominant hand. The actor, who is identifies as non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will portray a rendition of that role re-envisioned as non-binary identifying, rather than as a drag performer, in the live-action show, as in the initial comic and cartoon version.

This performer joins multiple new cast members who will portray the group to the screen, such as head Sir Crocodile, played by Joe Manganiello, a talented actress as a key member, and a familiar face, who will appear as the ensemble as the monarch of the fictional land.

Even though Bon Clay is a major member of the organization, the individual won’t appear until One Piece season 3. Considering season 2 set to cover the Little Garden segment, this signals a notable change in the placement of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could signal more adjustments to the narrative framework.

Escola’s blend of excellent comedic sense and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the role. In addition to their latest vocal work in the animated coming-of-age film Boys Go to Jupiter, they received high praise and numerous honors for creating and performing in the hit comedy play Oh Mary!, showcasing the adaptability they’ll bring to one of One Piece’s widely praised characters.

The streaming service’s real-life One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10th, 2026.
